The young Mallorcan made the reigning champion of Spain bow out in two sets (6-1, 6-4) The central court of the Albacete Tennisclub was almost filled to the brim.
The number 2 seed of the tournament, Rafael Nadal has won the 21st edition of the International Trophy City of Albacete, after having beaten the number 1 seed and reigning champion of Spain, the Toledan Feliciano L�pez, in a match that took an hour and a quarter.
After the endless match of last Friday, Nadal made a phenomenal recuperation and with not even a hint of fatigue after that match of three hours and a half, he rolled over Feliciano for a 3-0 lead and finished the set with a clear 6-1.

The Tennisclub Albacete offered a little special during the ceremony, handing over a replica of the trophy to Ferr�n Ventura, acompanied by a thunderous applause by the crowd, that almost filled the stadium with 1500 spectators. Ventura played a semifinal against Nadal which will be remembered as one of the best matches in this tournament�s history.
The handing over of the trophies was presided by the town�s mayor, Manuel P�rez Castell, together with the delegate of the Junta de Comunidades, Siro Torres, and the vice-president of the Diputaci�n provincial Evaristo Navarro, the delegate of Culture, Llanos Morena, the representative Carmen Naval�n, the town councillor of Sports Soledad Velasco and other councillors and representatives.

At the end of the match, the winner, Rafael Nadal commented: �I am very pleased to have won this tournament and I hope to do the same in the years to follow.�

El cabeza de serie n�mero dos del torneo, Rafael Nadal ha conquistado la 21� edici�n del Trofeo Internacional Ciudad de Albacete, tras superar en la final al cabeza de serie n�mero1 uno y actual campe�n de Espa�a, el toledano Feliciano L�pez por 6-1 y 6-4, en un encuentro que ha durado hora y cuarto.
Tras el largu�simo partido del viernes, Nadal se recuper� fenomenalmente sin acusar para nada el cansancio producido despu�s de tres hora y media de partido y comenz� arrollando a Feliciano con 3-0, para terminar el set con un claro 6-1.
El segundo set de esta corta final comenzaba con otro break de Nadal que, a la postre era definitivo, pues manten�a su saque hasta ganar por 6-4. En definitiva 6-1 y 6-4 para el jovenc�simo Rafael Nadal que gana este trofeo en su segunda participaci�n y adem�s demostrando un enorme nivel de juego.
El Club de Tenis Albacete tuvo un detalle durante la entrega de premios hacia Ferr�n Ventura, entreg�ndole una replica del trofeo, ante un fort�simo aplauso del p�blico asistente, que no llen� la pista central, aunque hubo 1.500 personas, casi lleno. Hay que recordar que Ventura jug� contra Nadal una semifinal que ser� recordada como uno de los mejores partidos en la historia de este torneo.
La entrega de trofeos estuvo presidida por el alcalde de ciudad, Manuel P�rez Castell, acompa�ado por el delegado de la Junta de Comunidades, Siro Torres y el vicepresidente de la Diputaci�n provincial Evaristo Navarro, la delegada de Cultura, Llanos Moreno, la diputada, Carmen Naval�n, la concejal de Deportes, Soledad Velasco y otros concejales y diputados.
Mayor concentraci�n
A la conclusi�n del encuentro, el vencedor del mismo, Rafael Nadal comentaba que �estoy muy satisfecho de haber ganado este torneo y espero repetir en ediciones sucesivas�.
Por su parte, Feliciano L�pez, el actual campe�n de Espa�a, destacaba que �Nadal ha jugado un gran partido y no hay que objetar a su triunfo�. En cuanto al torneo, destac� que �estoy dispuesto a volver, me tratan muy bien�.
Finalmente, el director deportivo del torneo, Juli�n Garc�a incidi� en que �hemos visto un tenis de muy alto nivel durante estos d�as, destacando sobre todo el partidazo que hicieron en semifinales Nadal y Ventura, uno de los mejores encuentros que hemos podido ver en estos �ltimos a�os en esta pista�.
