Men�s Single Final � Spanish National Championships
In his way to the final Rafa Nadal had defeated one Qualifier, Luis Antonio Perez, 21 st ranked in Spain �Tati� Rascon, third seed and defending champion, Tommy Robredo and in semifinals Rafa won a tough 3-set match against another left-handed Fernando Verdasco. Feliciano got a fantastic victory over Rome Tennis Masters Series Champion, Felix Mantilla in Quarterfinals and he didn�t have to play the semis because his opponent, Pato Clavet was injured after defeating former Roland Garros champion, Albert Costa.
Felciano served excellently all week and he did the same in the final, Loped only broke Nadal 2 times but Rafa couldn�t put pressure over Lopez�s serve because Feli did many aces and service points, Nadal had all the pressure in his serve and became nervous doing some very inusual mistakes in his game, Feliciano broke Nadal in the third game of the match and he realised some fantastic volleys. In the second set both players won his service games until 4 all when Lopez broke Nadal again, Rafa saved 2 match points (2 unforced erros made by Lopez) and he got his first 3-breaks point in the match but he wasn�t able to convert it and finally Feliciano did a fantastic volley to close the match..
